This is very interesting. An author of ours, Linda Riesenberg Fisler, reviews her experience with Dog Ear Publishing. I’d like to share it with you.
I hope you take a moment to read Linda’s review of Dog Ear Publishing entitled “How I Got Here”
“I met with Miles Nelson before I signed with Dog Ear Publishing. I asked all the questions that needed to be asked so that I knew what to expect. I knew I would get that very professional book, capable of winning awards and garnering attention, if I used their services to build the book around my writing style. That is just what they did. I made the decisions, directed the cover designer (gave input on what I saw as the cover and the designer made it reality) and my editor was ruthless, but the book needed that. I say ruthless with a smile on my face. I was very happy to have her input. The worry of a professional looking book disappeared.”
“There are some cons to going with a self-publishing press and those depend on the package you purchase from them. This is a learning process and with each issue that has arisen to date, Dog Ear has listened. As a matter of fact, I am in the process of setting up a meeting with Miles to go over some of the issues I’m facing with the book launch. I have some ideas and Miles is willing to listen.”
Also, take a look at her book, “Blind Influence” at lindariesenbergfisler.com. It’s a great book. Linda is passionate and artistic – both traits are evident in her writing. Additionally, she received an Honorable Mention at the 2015 Paris (France) Book Festival. ooh la la!
